Hakkai had used his mouth to give him water for his hands were wounded. Sensing he was awake, Hakkai kissed him.
It was soft and sweet.
The first opportunity he was alone with Hakkai, Sanzo kissed Hakkai.
Hakkai kissed back.
The confirmation was all he needed. Sanzo began finding ways to be alone with Hakkai.
Kisses grew into nibbles, licks, and exploring fingers, slowly working their way below the belt until …

Their sweat covered bodies entwined. Sanzo falling asleep to the sound of Hakkai’s heartbeat.

“Sanzo, thank you for helping with my shopping,” Hakkai said. “With everyone coming to my home to eat, food vanishes quickly.”
Sanzo replied, “I needed cigarettes; damn tart took my last one.”
“Still, I’m glad I ran into you. It’s nice to have company.”
“Tch.”
“So, did you enjoy the chocolate cake tasting?”
Sanzo ignored Hakkai.
Hakkai shook his head and gave a genuine smile.
“It’s wasn’t that bad, was it?”
Hakkai wiped away a few cake crumbs from around Sanzo’s mouth then licked his finger.
Sanzo’s breathing sped up.
“Care to try some more cake at my place, Sanzo?”

The demon attacks had been non-stopped, but by some miracle, or act of mercy, Sanzo party were able to find a little town to regroup and rest.
Hakkai wondered what reward was promised to stop or kill them as he undressed.
He turned the water on and waited before entering the shower. Cold showers were not Hakkai’s favorite way to relax.
As the water ran down his back, Hakkai thought of the few moments of calm when purple eyes looked only at him.
"In your eyes, the light the heat. In your eyes, I am complete," Hakkai sang to himself.
